PROCarbon ™Carbon Injection System
MATERIAL INJECTION SYSTEMS
PTI has developed its material injection systems for several reasons. The modern EAF operations require highly reliable, environmentally friendly injection systems to support continuously growing productivity. Therefore, injection systems have to be fully automated, low maintenance, self-diagnostic, should not have any moving parts, need to be equipped with dynamic flow rate control and should have closed loop control to adjust its parameters based on actual field situations.
CARBON INJECTION SYSTEM
The PTI ProCarbon™ Injection System is capable of accurately controlling the flow of Carbon from the pressurize vessel into the EAF. The nominal carbon flow range is from 20 lb/min to 110 lb/min (9 kg/min to 50 kg/min). The unit has a self-diagnostic system, load cells to control the accuracy of injection, a transport air system, a fluidizing system, with anti-bridging, automated purging and anti plugging control. The carbon injection rate can be optimally matched with the amount of chemical energy entering the EAF to balance oxygen demand and optimize liquid steel yield.
CARBON DELIVERY
PTI can design and supply several material delivery options:
- Open Top Hoppers for use with super sacks
- Closed Top Hoppers with dust control for use with either super sacks or pneumatic filling from the remote silo
- Bulk silo. The injectors can be located directly under the bulk material storage silos.
